What are the goals of the coalition?
The Remember the Triangle Fire Coalition was created to bring together a broad and diverse group of organizations and individuals to commemorate the centennial of the Triangle Factory fire on March 25, 2011. Now the Coalition is leading the effort to continue the commemoration of the Triangle fire by installing a permanent public art memorial and continuing the tradition of annual commemorations of the fire. We believe that the coalition is strengthened by the diversity of its members and strongly encourage new collaborations as well as the creation of participatory commemorative activities that speak to social justice.

How does the coalition do its work?
First by listening – the coalition brought together groups and individuals to create passionate and moving pieces for the centennial, and is now shepherding the process of listening as the public art memorial takes shape. Second by networking – bringing together a diversity of communities with different resources interested in commemorative activities. As a clearing house we match partners so that our combined resources can expand the possibilities of what can be achieved alone. We offer ongoing public meetings and events and a central source of information on resources as well as publicity for the commemorations and memorial.

Who can participate?
All are welcome! There are three ways that you can join in:

What is a Participating Organization?
Participating Organizations create or collaborate on a public commemorative activity, starting with the March 2011 centennial. You do not have to be a pre-existing or official organization – just a group of folks who organize a Triangle fire commemoration. Sign up to be a Participating Organization today!

What is a Sponsor?
A sponsor is an individual or organization who would like to support the work of the coalition by making a financial contribution. Donate over $100 and you are an official sponsor of the Remember the Triangle Fire Coalition.
