Many groups and individuals in Lawrence have been working for nearly two years to celebrate, commemorate, and learn from the 1912 Great Lawrence Textile Strike, known as the Bread & Roses Strike. Continuing through the summer is a history exhibit on the sixth floor of the Everett Mill, open Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 to 3:00 and by appointment. Also, numerous talks and discussions about the strike’s history are planned for the rest of the year. Also, get ready for a great Bread & Roses Heritage Festival on the Lawrence Common on Monday, September 3, from noon until 6:00PM.
