Safety 2012: ASSE Conference Offers Latest on Preventing Work Injuries, Illnesses

This week (June 3-6), thousands of environment, health and safety (EHS) professionals from around the world will be in Denver for the American Society of Safety Engineers’ (ASSE) annual Professional Development Conference (PDC) and Exposition: Safety 2012 at the Colorado Convention Center.

The PDC has more than 250 sessions on hot topics involving all aspects of work safety, including mining, risk management, nanotechnology, nuclear plant safety, fall protection, crane safety, ergonomics, sustainability and preventing workplace violence. One session of interest – “Restoring the Lincoln Memorial/Washington Monument Reflecting Pool” – focuses on the safety issues of work on our national landmark. Another session is a case study titled, “A Case Study of Success: Prairie Waters OCIP, Aurora, CO.” The ASSE PDC is the largest annual gathering of safety professionals.
